About The Candidate

Thomas Monks – Candidate for North Carolina House District 73

Thomas Monks is a dynamic leader, creative strategist, and tireless advocate for innovation and community. With a career spanning marketing, education, and partnership development, Thomas brings a rare blend of heart, hustle, and hands-on experience to public service.

Born in Florida and raised in North Carolina, Thomas’s journey is one rooted in adaptability, resilience, and vision. He moved to Indian Trail in 2007 and graduated from Sun Valley High School before returning to Florida to earn his bachelor’s degree in Communication with a focus in Public Relations from Florida Gulf Coast University. In 2015, Thomas returned to North Carolina with a deeper purpose — purchasing a home in Concord with his mother, planning together for her future retirement. Despite living in different states throughout his life, no place has felt quite like home the way Concord has. He’s proud to have watched the city grow into a vibrant and diverse community, and he hopes to continue contributing to the ongoing boom of Concord, Cabarrus County, and the state of North Carolina.

As the former Director of Marketing and Partnerships at Anna Lotan PRO USA, Thomas led national campaigns, cultivated meaningful relationships across industries, and helped grow a brand through creative problem-solving and clear communication. But beyond corporate success, Thomas’s career has been grounded in purpose — connecting people with resources, amplifying underrepresented voices, and creating platforms for others to thrive.

Working multiple jobs while managing high-level projects, Thomas knows firsthand the reality many Americans face: long hours, rising costs, and systems that often leave people behind. That lived experience is what fuels Thomas’s mission — to bring bold, human-centered leadership to government.

Thomas is deeply involved in creative and community spaces, from organizing events and education initiatives to engaging directly with small business owners, working professionals, students, and artists. A firm believer that policy must reflect people, Thomas is committed to inclusive economic growth, equitable access to healthcare and education, environmental sustainability, and restoring transparency and trust in public institutions.

Whether designing campaigns, producing educational content, mentoring future leaders, or performing onstage, Thomas brings the same values to every space: authenticity, collaboration, and a relentless drive to make things better.

Now, Thomas is stepping forward to serve — not as a politician, but as a partner to the people. With a campaign rooted in action, creativity, and courage, Thomas is ready to lead a new kind of conversation about our future — one that starts with listening, and ends in lasting change.
