Why This Matters
I believe voting should be easy, secure, and fair—for everyone. Our democracy works best when more people participate, not fewer. That’s why I’m fighting to protect your right to vote and make our elections more accessible for all North Carolinians.
Here’s What I Plan To Do:
Fair Voter ID Rules
- It’s okay to check voter ID—but rules shouldn’t block people from voting.
- I support the current law that accepts many forms of ID, like student IDs and expired IDs for seniors.
- We need to spread the word: you can get a free voter ID at your county Board of Elections!
More Ways to Vote
- 2 full weeks of early voting with evening and weekend hours.
- More early voting sites across each county.
- We should be aiming for 85% voter turnout—not just 75%.
Same-Day Registration
- Yes! It helps fix errors and makes voting easier.
- I used it myself when my name was entered wrong after moving in 2016.
Secure Elections Without Suppression
- Our elections are already safe and secure.
- No need to add rules that make voting harder.
- Let’s expand the no-campaigning zone around polling places to reduce voter intimidation.
End Gerrymandering
- Politicians shouldn’t draw their own districts.
- I support an independent redistricting commission to make fair maps that represent people, not parties.
Respect Student Voters
- College students live and vote in our communities.
- They deserve the same rights as anyone else. Period.
Automatic Voter Registration
- At age 18, everyone should be automatically registered to vote.
- Let’s make civic engagement easier from the start.
Final Thought
“Whether you’re 18 or 88, a student or a retiree, voting should be simple, secure, and accessible. That’s what I’m fighting for.”
